Happy Birthday Grace!

It's my sister's birthday today! She is really excited and so are the rest of us. She wanted an awesome cake and she said that it would be really neat if we could find one with a Hunger Games theme.

Well, we took it a step above and here's what we created:

Mom baked it but I decorated it. It is based off of the dress Katniss wears in the 2nd movie. And the bottom of the cake is some ribbon that we found at Micheal's. She really liked it and I hope you do as well! The top of the dress is some lace that I wrapped around the doll and the bow and arrow are just frosting and I used a cake decorating tip to create the waves on the dress. Also we used some yellow and orange sprinkles on the cake. There is also some orange frosting spray that I used to enhance the flame looks.
I think it looks pretty close! ;)

Fabulous Finds: Thrift Store (Idaho Falls)

Okay....so I know that you all are probably wondering what the deal is and well....the deal is that what I thought was going to be a quiet couple of weeks suddenly got very busy and I just haven't had time to post. Seriously! I ended up having to write a 5-7 paper in a week and on top of that five 50 million page long chapters to read as well. Ugh!!!

But for the moment I am caught up so here I am.

I had to go down to Idaho Falls for the Praxis test a little bit ago (which by the way I passed! Yay!) and we stopped at the local Youth Ranch. Which by the way every town should have! Here are my fabulous finds!

Starting at the top is a picture that I bought for about $6. It's abstract and I really enjoy it. I think that it looks like trees with some mountains in the background with some clouds. My dad didn't like it but I sure do!

The burgundy sign is for my bathroom, I have a Paris theme so it will be really cute!

I found a square table cloth that had blue flowers painted on and I think it looks very retro.

And last, but certainly not least, a picture album which is so awesomely vintage!

I'mmmmmmmmm baaaaaaack!!!

So I trust that you all made it through the treacherous and harsh reality as you patiently awaited for a new blog post from me. ;)

So a few things before I start, first of all, thank you again for being patient. I am happy to report that school is over for a little while. I am going to be taking summer classes but that doesn't start until June and so I can spend a little more time on this until then.

Here are a few of my summer goals:

• Read some classic books (The Cossacks by Leo Tolstoy, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin...etc.)
• Finish a few quilts (I am not for sure on the exact number)
• Sew a retro dress (more on that later)
• Do some painting in my bathroom to  brighten things up a bit (hopefully a post on that later)
• Take two summer classes so I get my Associates in the falls
• Prepare for the Praxis (huge teaching test, and entrance exam into the teaching program at ISU)
• Get admission to ISU and the ISU teaching program
• Possible squeeze in a camping trip (please, please, please)
• Make crafts to sell at a craft sell this year (a goal but really far down on "THE LIST OF IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO")
• Oh yeah, and play in City Band

Well...that's it for me, but as you can see it's a pretty full schedule and I will have lots to keep me busy. Anyway, I hope you are all doing well. And I am planning on doing more posts soon! TTFN!

Finals Week

Okay, okay, so I haven't posted in ....forever! Sorry, sorry, a million times sorry. I just needed a break and unfortunately school has just been crazy so I haven't even had a lot of time to post anything new.

Here's my "sad puppy" face. Will you forgive me?

Sadly, there are about three weeks of school left but I PROMISE (!!!) to post afterwards. I've gotta get through this semester otherwise, what's the point of going to school? Lots of love! I haven't forgotten you! Keep checking back, almost to 2,000 page views! Thanks everyone!

Hi everyone. I hope you haven't forgotten me! I am sorry but I have been really busy lately and to be completely honest I simply haven't felt like posting anything.

I should have a few pictures of projects coming up soon. I am also going to be having a giveaway, as soon as I can figure out a program. Thanks for continuing to read this blog.

I have a lot on my plate at the moment so keep checking back, and I'm sorry that posts are so infrequent.
